DO I NEED A FIRE RISK ASSESSMENT?
Under current fire safety legislation - The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, The Fire Safety Regulations 2022 & The Fire Safety Act 2021, states that all business premises and residential properties (not single dwellings) require a Fire Risk Assessment. If you employ one or more employees, a written fire risk assessment is now legally required.Properties including public and commercial premises, such as but not inclusive of, schools, warehouses, factories, licensed premises, nursing homes, care homes, offices, and retail outlets. As well as businesses which provide sleeping accommodations such as sheltered housing, blocks of flats and houses in multiple occupations (HMOs). This is why Santone only uses Third Party Accredited Assessors to carry out your report, so it is legally suitable and sufficient.
HOW OFTEN DO I NEED A FIRE RISK ASSESSMENT?
Every 12 months after the original assessment is done. Every 5 years a new assessment should be conducted if the building’s purpose or layout has substantially changed.
WHAT IS A FIRE RISK ASSESSMENT?
Fire risk assessments are a survey carried out on the premise to identify any fire risks in the property and to provide recommendations on how to make the premise safer.
